Pastor Edwin Perez was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York. At the age of 7 he first started attending church. When he was a teenager he experienced many challenges and departed from the church. At the age of 19 he returned to church. That same year during a Tuesday night service a Pastor called him to the front of the service and said that God had given him a very special calling that would come to fruition later in his life. After that time he was in and out of church for many years and eventually had no desire to return. At the age of 26 he met his future wife Diana and they were married two years later. The Lord had been tugging on her heart for a few years. She eventually began attending a Christian church without her husband and accepted Jesus as her Lord and Savior. Two years later they decided to have a child and the Lord blessed them with Alexis Susan Perez. Shortly after her birth Edwin decided to help his wife by staying with Alexis in the church nursery. Week after week while in the church nursery he heard the message that was being preached from the pulpit. He eventually decided to go to a Men’s retreat where he had an extraordinary encounter with the Lord. During that retreat he recommitted his life to the Lord.  During one Sunday service there was a visiting preacher who said that God was going to show certain people what their calling was. At that moment the Lord showed Edwin a vision of him pastoring a church. During that service he turned to his wife and told her that he knew what God told him to do. Pastor Edwin then completed bible study classes, taught new believer classes and bible studies, ushered, became part of the alter call team, did community outreach and participated in leadership groups. Pastor Edwin became ordained as a reverend in 2007 and earned degrees in Pastoral ministry, counseling and biblical studies. Eventually the Lord directed Pastor Edwin and their family to move to a different church. At the new church they did the work of the Lord and learned many valuable lessons. Pastor Edwin and his wife became youth pastors, preached the word of God, taught women’s and men’s fellowships, led worship, taught Sunday school, participated in evangelical work and homeless ministry. In December 2014 the Lord confirmed repeatedly that it was time for him to move on and open a church. In February the Perez family left their previous church. On 2/22/15 Walking with Christ church held its first service in the Perez home. Since that time the Lord has ministered, moved supernaturally, grown the church and moved it into two larger home spaces. In October, 2016  the Lord opened all of the doors for Walking with Christ church to move into a church building. On 12/18/16 Walking with Christ held its first Sunday Service at 4002 Third Avenue, Brooklyn, New York 11232.Pastors Edwin and Diana Perez now have three daughters, Alexis, Amber and Grace Perez and reside in Brooklyn, New York.
